EnPV

EnPV GmbH (enpv.de) is a German company that has developed an innovative IBC (Interdigitated Back-Contact) PV cell architecture, called SABC (Self-Aligned Back-Contact). SABC incorporates tunnel-oxide passivating contacts for both polarities. It is part of the family of cell designs typically referred to as TBC (TOPCon IBC) cells which are gaining significant traction in the PV industry.

Leveraging on leading-edge LASER processing and self-aligned insulation between passivated contacts of opposite polarities, called trench-less insulation (TLI), SABC dramatically simplifies the manufacturing process flow for IBC cells and can be seamlessly integrated into existing TOPCon cells production lines. This innovation allows SABC to be produced at production costs lower than for TOPCon while still harnessing the full efficiency potential of TBC cells. Both SABC and TLI are patent pending technologies of EnPV GmbH.

EnPV GmbH is an affiliate of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (enbw.com).
