Jesse Pichel
Mr. Pichel is a Managing Director, Investment Banking at ROTH MKM. Before joining ROTH MKM, he was a Managing Director, Global Head of Clean Technology Research for Jefferies Group Inc. He has over 20 years of capital markets experience and is recognized as one of the first research analysts to focus on Solar and New Energy Technologies. Jesse co-founded Piper Jaffray CleanTech practice in 2004 and worked at Needham and Company and Unterberg Towbin as a Research Analyst in the Semiconductor, Electronic Manufacturing, and Emerging Technology sectors. He has received numerous stock picking and earnings accuracy awards, including those given by Institutional Investor (II), Forbes, and FT/StarMine. In addition, he has been ranked top analyst and Top Gun by The Wall Street Journal Best on the Street Analyst Survey. He was most recently ranked as a top analyst in the 2012 II All-American Team for Alternative Energy and was runner-up two times previously. He is a founding member of the Sierra Club Clean Tech Council and is on the board of other non-profits promoting Sustainability and the Environment.
Mr. Pichel earned his B.S. from Cornell University and his M.B.A. from Fordham University.
Philip Shen
Mr. Shen is a Managing Director, Senior Research Analyst at Roth MKM, providing equity research coverage of the Cleantech sector with a focus on Renewables. Since 2010, he has built a franchise that leverages a global and deep industry network, enabling him to stay on the leading edge of what matters for solar stocks and the industry. Financial media publications, including the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s, have quoted him numerous times.
Before joining Roth Capital Partners, he worked as a Research Associate at J.P. Morgan and Bear Steams. He received a StarMine Analyst Award for the No. 1 Earnings Estimator of Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment in 2015 and a Thomson Reuters award for the No. 1 Stock Picker of Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment in 2016. He was also a member of a team ranked by Institutional Investor magazine as the “Second Team” for its Machinery coverage in 2007, 2008, and 2009 at Bear Stearns and J.P. Morgan.
Mr. Shen received a B.S. in computer science from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
