Keynote Opening Presentations
Moderator
Tristan Erion-Lorico
The opening talks at PV ModuleTech USA 2024 will address head-on the key issues impacting module supply and procurement, going into the second half of 2024 and for 2025. AD/CVD is back on the U.S./China trade-relations agenda big time now, with the latest petition filed with the DOC almost certain to cause yet another reshuffling of where and how PV module buyers in the U.S. have to focus on to remove module supply risks in the near to mid term. The session will feature two talks. The first comes from PV Tech’s Finlay Colville and will map out the winners and losers expected to emerge over the next 18 months and what a PV buyer’s guide might look like by the end of this year. The second talk will hear from one of the module supply options to the U.S. today – SEG Solar – and how this company’s diversified global & U.S. manufacturing footprint may become a template for others in being able to navigate around some of the potential roadblocks arising from current AD/CVD outcomes.

Bankable module suppliers for U.S. projects out to 2030
Moderator
Tristan Erion-Lorico
Module supply to the U.S. has undergone rapid changes in the past 12 months, with a wide range of company types in the mix. In addition to domestic manufacturing announcements, supply-chains have been evolving to be compliant with U.S. import restrictions. And all the time, module profitability has been challenged. This session look at the features that differentiate module suppliers having short-term success and those investing in being long-term, reliable, solvent partners with performance-leading product.

What would a risk free 2025 look like when manufacturing & buying PV modules for U.S. field deployment?
Moderator
Finlay Colville
The first panel sessions of PV ModuleTech USA 2024 focuses on what keeps module buyers in the U.S. awake at night? What makes it so hard to buy a PV module in the U.S. now? What would make it better? What needs to be changed from a policy, supply-chain and contractual standpoint to lessen these concerns? Panellists will feature a diverse range of stakeholders, each having a profound impact on what the U.S. module deployment landscape will look like in the coming years.

Understanding & de-risking PV module field failures
Moderator
Markus Beck
Field reliability and yield optimization have always been key metrics to understand in utility-scale PV deployments. In recent years however, new challenges have arisen with new constant changes in module BoMs and failures arising from extreme weather incidents. This session will look at some of the problems being seen today in large-scale U.S. solar plants and how to mitigate against module failures from module-materials and insurance perspectives.

PV module supply-chain & technology diversification: de-risking module buying in 2025
PV module buying in the U.S. now requires a deeper dive into PV module technologies and an awareness of process flows used in manufacturing. Key questions here include: who are the reliable module suppliers in India? Who are the main cell and module equipment suppliers globally? And which PV module suppliers and equipment providers have been investing heavily in R&D in recent years, building up a robust and defendable patent portfolio? This session will hear from a range of PV companies that have been industry-leading in these areas during the past few years, and how this can help to derisk PV module buying in the U.S. in the future.

After the dust settles! PV modules for U.S buying in 2025 & 2026: power, price, technology & availability
Moderator
Finlay Colville
This session is your time to ask questions that you think will be important to understand when buying modules for U.S. deployment, during 2025 and 2026. How good is your crystal ball today? What will a PV module cost in the U.S. two years out? Will technology have changed radically and kW-rated panels be in touching distance? Will DOC-friendly panels be flowing through customs? Will domestic manufacturing in the U.S. be the envy of the Western world? Make your comments to the PV ModuleTech USA 2024 audience, ask our illustrious panellist, or flag a new question that keeps you awake at night!
